How we verify
We verify facts. We do not vouch. Every claim on this site is a public record we checked, with the source and the date we checked it. A verified badge means we matched the business to an active license. It is one input for your decision, not a guarantee.
What the verified-license badge means
For licensed trades, we match each business against the official public registry for that trade in its state. Every badge names the registry it was checked against, and as the directory expands, each new state's own registries apply. Registries we verify against today:
- Construction trades (AZ): Arizona Registrar of Contractors
- Pest control (AZ): Arizona Department of Agriculture Pest Management Division
We only show the badge when all of the following are true:
- We found a license that matches the business name and city.
- The license status is Active (not expired, suspended, or revoked).
- The license class covers the trade the business is listed under.
- There is no disciplinary action recorded against the license.
Each verified business page has a "How we verified this license" panel showing the license number, the date we checked, and the registry we checked it against. Licenses change, so always confirm the current status yourself at the official lookup: the AZ ROC contractor search for construction trades, or the AZ Dept of Agriculture pest business lookup for pest control.
